Mythos Quartet

A four-volume collection re-imagining four Greek myths. Using words and images derived from her large eponymous handmade and pulp-painted collages,, she revitalizes stories from antiquity in a vivid and poetic manner.

Book One, Leda’s Swan Dance, tells a story of a dream, transformation, flight and rapture.

Book Two, Brother Love/Dioskuroi, describes a tale of devotion between twin brothers that images how Time came to be divided into day and night,

Book Three, Persephone Down Deep, emphasizes the growing pains between mothers and daughters as they redefine themselves as women.

Book Four, Thetis of the Wine-Dark Sea, recounts a mother’s hope for her son, her lament over the path Achilles chooses, and her solace.

Each of the 9x6 inch bound books is comprises of handmade paper-over-board covers, hand-marbleized end papers, an original watercolor title page, and added embellishments throughout. Each book includes a signed print of her original collage. Text is printed letterpress from photopolymer plates in Lithos Pro and Avenir by Classic Letterpress. Each Quartet is presented in a custom-made white acrylic slipcase, and the edition is limited to twenty copies.
